Wrap with Love.   Since July 1 2010 we have crocheted or knitted 54 rugs and 623 squares.   This rate of production will slow to a trickle soon because we have only a small amount of 8ply yarn left and no funds to replenish.   WWL has expressed thanks at the constant stream of knitting that flows down the Mountain to the WWL depot in Sydney.   Thank you to all who have donated, in kind, knitting time and cash;  your efforts are appreciated by all.   If you would like
to donate to keeping someone warm please keep WWL in mind.   Making a small contribution can mean a huge difference to people who are cold, dispossessed and traumatised.

Lower Mountains Over 50s Social Group.    This group meets every Thursday between 10am and Noon in the Sharon Burridge Hall, Blaxland Community Complex.   The group vary their activities to ensure member preferences are catered for;  including a short holiday every year.   Bus trips, board games, gentle exercise, guest speakers and lots more keep members busy.

For Love of Music (FLOM).   On March 4 2009, the first group met for the love of music.   This group has 17 members currently registered, with a core of original members still loving their music.   This group meets every Wednesday from 10am to Noon in Meeting Room C, Blaxland Community Complex.

Clak'n'Yak.   This group first met in October 2009 and has managed to keep a core group of knitters and talkers occupied until now.   The members have suggested that the group open up to include ALL crafts and there will be a meeting on May 27 2011 at Blaxland Community Complex to decide future activities.   At the moment the group is meeting on the last Friday of the month in the Sharon Burridge Hall between 10am and Noon at the Blaxland Community Complex.

Computing.   Since February 2008 we have been partnering with TAFE Outreach and later with TAFE to provide Introductory, Basic and Extension Units to community members.   Introductory Computing is for people who have no or very little computing skills.  This Course runs for a full Semester twice a year.    Basic Computing, or Certificate 1 in Information Technology (IT) also runs for a full Semester twice a year and is for people who have some computing skills.   Extension Units run for a Term each and are for people who have completed and/or have basic computing skills.   Extension Units cover, Internet and Email, PowerPoint and Publisher and Excel.   Excel combines with a Financial Literacy Course including talks by a solicitor and a financial counsellor.    Courses are timetabled across the TAFE year and do not run during school holidays.

Introduction to Sustainable and Edible Gardening.   This is a partnership between TAFE Outreach, Wentworth Community Housing and Lower Mountains Neighbourhood Centre.   Whilst this Project is designed to encourage the establishment of a community garden in Hope Street Blaxland by Wentworth Community Housing clients, some places will be available to the wider community.   Time will also be spent on how to make a "Kitchen Garden in a Box".    This Course is scheduled for Term 4 2011.
