The Lower Mountains Over 50s Social Club, established in 2003, has flourished and become a vibrant group of local residents who have recently retired and/or are living on their own.  

The group meets every Thursday from 10 am to 12 noon in the Seniors’ Lounge at the Blaxland Community Complex (where LMNC is based), and provides an open, friendly environment for members to enjoy affordable lifestyle activities such as keeping fit, outings, bus trips to interesting locations, and regular education sessions on a wide variety of topics. 

The group is primarily self-driven, with support from LMNC as required.  One of the most important aspects of membership of this group is the social connections that have been formed and maintained. The group also undertakes an annual ‘trip’ - Hunter 2007, South Coast 2008, so where to in 2009?    If you would like to know, then come along and join the group and you can be part of the planning and activities in 2009.
